So...I guess this is turning into a blog about music?
It has been suggested that I blog about my shows..etc.
So I think I will!
Last night Brendan and I played at Mojoes in Orland Park. We shared the bill with Making April, Jon Roberts, Gary from The Fastest Kid Alive and Amanda Farmer.
It was a lot of fun. We played really well! and we sounded tight! ..except for one song but that was because we had a hard time hearing each other in the monitors.
A bunch of my friends came out to see me . I very much appreciated that!!! ( Thank you again to everyone who came)
The next show is at 115 Bourbon Street in Marionette Park. Its hosted by the Chicago Fire Department...can I say hello firemen? ;)

Big Girls Dont Cry...Thats a lie
Today my mommy left for Florida with Aunty Ro, Aunty Neece, Gramma , and Papa Walio.
I went with my dad because we had to pick her car so I could drive it home and dad could drive her and Aunty Ro to the airport.
I went to give my mom a hug to say goodbye and began to ball my eyes out like a 2 year old. I'm talking tears streaming down my face , and they continued through my drive home.
I've never been without my mom for longer than a couple days and those are days when I'm the one who isnt home. But this time the house is going to feel empty . I dont like it. Maybe I'm just a big baby. But I love parents more than anyone.

Kids say the darndest things
I teach swim lessons at the YMCA .
Little kids say the darndest things.
It was safety and I was drilling the kids on their emergency numbers. I have to make sure that every child knows to dial 911 in case of an emergency.
I was going down the line asking each child.
"Vanessa, who do you call?" " Miss Erica, I call 911" ( ya they call me miss erica..its weird. kinda freaks me out) " Lindsey who do you call?" " 9112 - I mean 9114..wait 9..I forgot" but my favorite answer of all?! " Ben who do you call?" he confidently and loudly replied " I call 99.5." If youre not aware of US99.5 playing country music then its not funny..but I couldnt stop laughing. I asked him if mommy listens to country music and he goes ya..we call 99.5 .
Made my day I tell ya.
